Background

Intelius is a large technology company based in Bellevue, WA. They have a broad range of products that is applicable to a broad range of customers. They approached us to create a link building campaign that would help to drive more traffic, build more partner relationships and to increase their standing within the major search engines.

Challenge

Intelius is in a very competitive industry that is notoriously difficult to move the needle in terms of ranking. Furthermore, link building can be extremely time consuming and difficult to acquire. Another big obstacle to this program was that Intelius was unable to offer any type of reciprocal link to other sites so there was very little incentive for them to work with us other than wanting to expose their users to the products offered by Intelius

Strategy

Our strategy involved conducting web and competitor crawls in order to determine relevant partner sites in which to acquire links. Once this research was conducted, we engaged in an elaborate outreach program where by we contacted around 100 sites per week with the intention of linking back to Intelius. With this strategy, we were able to acquire around 15 – 20 new links per week from high value sites. In terms of SEO, the quality and quantity of links can have a huge impact in how valuable and relevant Google determines a site to be.

Results

In just a few short months, Intelius had their site experiencing an increase in both Google Page Rank and overall traffic. It typically takes years for an established site to increase in Page Rank which we managed to achieve in a few months.
